Step 1: Install Java 21

  1. Download Java 21 from the Oracle website or Adoptium.
  2. Install it and verify by running this in Command Prompt:

Step 2: Download SunGuard

Download server.jar

From BuiltByBit.

Download SGL Launcher

Unzip to get SGL.exe.
Place SGL.exe and server.jar in the same directory, for example C:\SunGuard.

Step 3: Run SunGuard

The first start takes around 10 minutes, because SunGuard downloads all the necessary dependencies.
  1. Run SGL.exe.
  2. Add your license key to the newly created license.txt file.
  3. The SunGuard GUI dashboard appears. Wait until the server starts.
  4. Your browser opens and you can access SunGuard.

Step 4: Use the dashboard

  • Log in with username admin and password admin.
  • Drag and drop your .jar files.
  • Select your desired obfuscation settings.
  • Click Start Obfuscation.
✅ You’re all set! SunGuard is now ready to secure your .jar files.
